This was painted with the influence of metal, rusted metal. Adding the glazed ceramic piece, it felt like I was adding a little primordial life to it. Cradled hardboard with hanger. Size: 12 x 24"

Flowing easily onto the wood, the process felt very organic. This piece was created using Balsawood, stained with liquid acrylics, beads and colored pencil. I found it fit perfectly in an old canvas stretching frame

I painted the original version of this tree over a period of years, starting with the sky and the tree, and after some changes in my life, I discovered the element of "roots" needed to come into play. Then the square embellishments came in easily with symbolism and the color yellow representing the energy. I think of this as "Grandmother".
